Today I Wrote this Poem

Today I wrote this poem,
but I'm not sure if it's good.
It doesn't have the things
my teacher says a poem should.

It doesn't share the feelings
I have deep inside of me.
It hasn't any metaphors
and not one simile.

It's missing any narrative
And alliteration too.
It isn't an acrostic,
diamante, or haiku.

There's nothing that's personified.
It doesn't even have a plot.
I'm pretty sure that rhyming
is the only thing it's got.

It sure was fun to write it,
and I think it's long enough.
It's just too bad it's missing
all that great poetic stuff.

But anyway, who cares?
As long as it has the rhyme
I'd better end it now
Coz it already wasted my time.

Fiesta!

This is probably the most memorable fiesta I've had in my life...mainly because it's the first time that it was moved. It's originally celebrated on March 19--feast day of St. Joseph--but because march 19 falls on holy week (and it's impossible to celebrate a town fiesta without eating meat), the date was moved today, march 15. My friends also came over at my house (which is new for me considering that I seldom invite friends over at parties). I also received a new wallet from my mom (which is also new). Anyway, I also ate an incredible amount of food today. I've never had that much to eat in my entire life! It sucks! I even vowed to lose some weight this summer so that I can fit in my favorite shirt again (the shirt that my mother got for free in an airline 4yrs ago when she last went to singapore). So much for the dieting!! Right now, I'm still eating the brownies that carmela gave me today. I feel like a pig! Good thing it's holy week next week. You see, my mother and grandmother are strict when it comes to fasting and abstinence on holy week. They don't cook that much so my sister and I don't have any other choice but to fast with them. Plus, we'll have to eat fish the whole week..and I don't like fish!

Naaapreciate ko ang pag-imbita nyo sa'min pag may party sa inyo, pero sana lang naman maisip nyo na may mga kapitbahay kayong tao na kailangan ding matulog nang mahimbing paminsan-ninsan. At please lang, kung mag-coconcert kayo, pumili-pili naman kayo ng maayos sa kanta at singer kasi na-iimbiyerna na ako sa lalaking palaging nakanta ng 'just once' at sa babaeng nakanta ng 'looking through the eyes of love.' A.N.N.O.Y.I.N.G.

I had this really annoying seatmate at church today! She is a small woman (her height is just up to my shoulders), she wears a loose yellow shirt and tight pants. I think she's in her late 30's or early 40's. Why was I annoyed at her? Well, here's why:
1. She sings at the top of her lungs (which really intimidated me)
2. She gave me a terrifying look when I ACCIDENTALLY placed my foot at the kneeler
3. She gave me "the look" when I took out my gum so I was forced to put it back in my pocket again
4. She raised her eyebrows at my painted toenails
5. And most of all, she keeps staring at me, or looking at my direction and then immediately faces the altar when I look back at her.

She completely freaked me out!!! Whenever she gives me the look, I felt that I did something wrong. I swear I'm never gonna sit beside her again!!!

P.S, I love you

I've just finished reading this book (for the third time)!!! Such a wonderful book..tear-jerker...sweet..sad..funny..makes you wanna fall in love.. By the way, it's also a motion picture starring hilary sawnk. I haven't watched it though, but I'll definitely watch it as soon as it's shown here... or maybe I'll just buy a vcd or dvd of it when it's already available. ^^,

Finally..My work's done!

At last, I've finished my Bulik column!!! After three days of planning and brainstorming for a good topic, I finally had the urge to start writing it. That's because the associate editor-in-chief gave us a deadline. Anyway, the column wasn't great. It's so simple, not my kind of thing. But the important thing is that I have already submitted it. As a matter of fact, it's 2 hours late!!! Can you believe it??? Well, let's just say I wasn't in the mood to write my column (I could've written a farewell column but the EIC refrained us from doing so).... But at least they get to publish it together with my graduation picture =)

Operation Organize!!!

I've just finished cleaning my room..well, not "my" room because I still share that room with my sister..and it's not exactly the "room" that's clean, but rather my table. Just my table. My "study" table with 3 drawers. The table that my mom purchased so that I'll stop reading and doing my assignments in my bed..Well, the table was useless because I still do my reading and my homeworks on my bed (because it's more comfortable that way). The table only served as an extra storge for all my stuff.

If you could only see my table 5 hours ago (I should've taken a picture of it and posted it here).. It's as if it was just passed by a crazy tornado. Everything was all messy and dusty. It looks terrible! But it wasn't until last monday (start of our vacation) that I noticed how terrible it is. School days are busy days and when I'm busy, I don't have time to notice my surroundings (not that I don't see it, it's just that I don't pay attention to it).

It took me four and a half hours (straight!) to finish organizing all my stuff. It took that long not because I'm slow but because of all the old things that I found in my drawers. Old handouts that reminded me of my previous years in highschool (years of endless quizzes and projects) , old letters from my friends, old pictures that reminded me of all the precious times that I've left behind...It seems as if it was just yesterday when I took all those pictures. I knew I had to throw away some useless stuff (to make more room) but I found it difficult to throw some of them

because of all the memories that they hold. For instance, my lucky pen that i've used two years ago. It's a Pilot ball-point pen that I bought for 20pesos at Luna's. That pen is already empty but I just don't have the heart to throw it away. I used to use it in taking all my exams in level 8. I used it in writing my draft for my very first article in Bulik. In the end, I just took a picture of it (the pen), kissed it (not joking!) and threw it away...

I did it with all other things like my old, worn out pencil case (which used to be my favorite), my old magazines (which I used to read over and over again), couple of broken crayons (they have a funny story, that's why i kept them) ...I don't want to enumerate them because it can take all day. You may say that these things are crap and it deserves to be thrown in the trash bin, but for me, these "crap" hold my memories. Well, I just convinced myself that I had to do it to make room for more memories to come.

Aside from the useless yet memorable things that I threw away, I also found some useful things like my stapler (I thought it was gone forever, good thing I didn't buy a new one), the other pair of my pearl earrings, my wallet containing P200 and my dream catcher necklace which I've bought during my last trip to enchanted kingdom.

My table looks very organized now. I had fun by the way. I never realized cleaning would be that fun. Why didn't I do that a long time ago? Well, I know the answer..I had no time. Hehe..

My first blog (part 2)

Sorry, I wasn't able to finish my first blog because my mom arrived and I had to immediately shut down my computer. She hates it when she comes home and sees me or my sister totally absorbed in front of the computer. She says that it'll ruin our eyesight and it'll worsen our astigmatism(duh! she passed on that trait to us that's why me and my sister both have abnormally formed corneas!). Plus, she thinks that it's just a waste of electricity. Anyway, moving on..I decided to write blogs for 4 reasons:
1. To make full use of our new technology (Not that online blogging is new, it's just that I haven't tried it yet)
2. I wanted to share my thoughts and experiences to others (For many years, I have been writing my thoughts in my diary which has been a mystery for some of my friends. And now, i wanted to share some to them)
3. To kill time (It's gonna be a looong vacation and I don't wanna spend my summer vacation doing nothing but sleeping and reading..need to keep myself preoccupied)
4. Because someone wanted to be updated with my day to day experiences (no comment)

Well, those are the only reasons I can think of....and now, I'm running out of something to say. So that's about it for now!
